Independence Day （独立記念日）

今日は２３４回目のアメリカ独立記念日！Poirot もアメリカ国旗のスカーフを巻いて、Charles River 沿いをお散歩です。人気者のPoirot はたくさん (>5) の人から写真をとらせてとたのまれてました。 Today is the 234th Independence Day!  Poirot got dressed up with the American flag and walked along Charles River.  Poirot was very popular and many people (more than 5) asked to take pictures of him!

川沿いにはいろいろお店も出ています。今年、初めて見たのは中をくりぬいた椰子の実に入ったSlush. 椰子の実にはかわいいおサルの顔。冷た～いSlush が暑い日差しの中で渇いたのどを癒してくれます。１杯＄１２と割高ですが、２杯目は無料、３杯目からは＄３なので、まあOKでしょう。もちろん２杯いただきました！暑さでばてばてのPoirot もおいしそうに舐めてました。写真は飲み終わった後の椰子の実。貯金箱にもなるそうです。 Along the river, there were many shops for street foods.  We bought a cup of slush in a monkey-shaped  coconut.

夜はBoston まで花火を見に行きました。Poirot にとって、初めて間近で見る花火。大きな音に驚いたらしくて、恐怖におののいた顔で(鼻水をたらしながら)背中にしがみついてました。 At night we went to Boston to watch fireworks.  This was the first time for Poirot.  He was shocked by the big sounds and looked so scared and held my husband's shoulder so tightly (with running nose).

花火は、日本に比べるとあれですが、近くで見るとやっぱり迫力があっていいですね。 We enjoyed the firework very much.
