Trip to France Day 5 (1) (Blois - Amboise - Tours)

今日はブロワからトゥールまで移動ですが、途中にあるアンボワーズ (Amboise) でいったん車を止めて観光。まずはアンボワーズ城 (Château d'Amboise) のすぐ隣にあるカフェで朝ごはん。 Today we left Blois for Tours, but we stopped at Amboise on the way.  We had breakfast at a cafe right next to Château d'Amboise.

コーヒー、クロワッサンとアーモンドのパン(お菓子？)。 Coffee, croissant and some kind (almond?) of gâteau.

メレンゲのお菓子。名前 (Baisers d'Amboise) からすると、アンボワーズの特産品なのでしょうか？お土産にいくつか買ってみました。壊れやすいので気を付けて持って帰らねば。 Meringue.  According to its name (Baisers d'Amboise), I guess it is famous sweets in Amboise.  I got a few bags for souvenirs.

腹ごしらえもすんだところで、アンボワーズ城入場！ロワール川を見下ろす小高い丘の上に立っています。 After breakfast, we entered Château d'Amboise.  It was built on a promontory overlooking the Loire River.

この階段を登っていきます。１５世紀にお城が王家の手に渡ると、まずフランボワイアン様式に改装され、次いでイタリア人建築家によりフランス建築では最初のルネサンスの装飾モチーフが取り入れられたそうです。レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチもアンボワーズ城に招かれ、近くのクロ・リュッセで生活していたらしいです。お城とクロ・リュッセは地下道でつながっています。 Once in royal hands in the 15th century, the château became a favourite of French kings; Charles VIII decided to rebuild it extensively at first in the French late Gothic Flamboyant style and then in the Renaissance style (by Italian mason-builders), first seen in French architecture.  As a guest of the King, Leonardo da Vinci came to the château in 1515 and lived and worked in the nearby Clos Lucé, connected to the château by an underground passage.

これは、お城に隣接したサン・ユベール教会堂で、ダ・ヴィンチが埋葬されています。 This is the Chapel of Saint-Hubert, adjoining the Château where Leonardo da Vinci is buried.

お城の庭からはアンボワーズの街が一望できます。 You can look down the town of Amboise from the garden.

シャルル８世翼にある『会議の間』。国王が会議を開いた部屋だそうです。 The meeting room in Charles VIII's wing.  The kings held meetings here.

かなり長い時間楽しめました。見学後はトゥールへ向かって出発！ We spent a long time here.  We enjoyed it very much.  Then we left for Tours.
